Financial Assistance
The program offers a limited number of graduate assistantships to èßäÊÓÆµapps admitted to the M.Ed. and Ph.D. programs.
Teaching Assistantships
Doctoral èßäÊÓÆµapps are eligible to become Teaching Assistants (TAs) and have the opportunity to work as a TA in two different capacities.
- Undergraduate Measurement Course TA. This type of TA position is an excellent opportunity for èßäÊÓÆµapps who wish to become èßäÊÓÆµapp faculty or work as testing and evaluation specialists in Pre-K through grade 12 schools upon graduation. This course is delivered both online and in a web-enhanced manner in computer teaching labs for pre-service and in-service teachers. The TA will function as the primary instructor with guidance and supervision of the department faculty. Assignments are limited to two class sections per semester (including summer semesters).
- Research Computer Lab TA. The second type of TA position available is ideal for doctoral èßäÊÓÆµapps interested in working as a research consultant. In this capacity, èßäÊÓÆµapps will function as consultants for both faculty in other departments as well as èßäÊÓÆµapps enrolled in measurement and research courses.
General Guidelines and Information
- Recipients must be admitted to the Ph. D. program in Educational Measurement and Research
- Recipients are expected to work 20 hours each week at their teaching or consulting positions
- Recipients will be required to enroll for a minimum of nine (9) hours of graduate coursework during each of the Fall and Spring semesters
- Each recipient will receive a nine (9) hour tuition waiver for each of the two semesters
- Assistantship recipients should not be employed full-time
Research Assistantships
- Research assistantships are available for masters and doctoral èßäÊÓÆµapps through the College of Education’s Center for Research, Evaluation, Assessment and Measurement (CREAM). Students working in the Center participate in a variety of research and evaluation projects within the University, Pre-K through grade 12 schools, and other agencies interested in education. This is an excellent opportunity for èßäÊÓÆµapps to gain hands-on research experience and to work with faculty and èßäÊÓÆµapps from a variety of disciplines.

Internships
Externship and internship awards are available for graduate èßäÊÓÆµapps to work on programs related to exams such as: the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT), Educational Testing Service (ETS), and Riverside (ACT).
Fellowship Opportunities
èßäÊÓÆµapp Graduate Fellowships (UGFs)
In keeping with the intent of the èßäÊÓÆµapp's Graduate Council,
fellowships are devoted to the recruitment of outstanding, new èßäÊÓÆµapps into graduate
programs. Thus, èßäÊÓÆµapps who are currently admitted or enrolled in a program are ineligible
for the awards. Check with the to see if you are eligible since criteria changes every year.
