Advising: Ed.S. Program Coordinator

The Program Coordinator serves as the initial advisor to Ed.S. èßäÊÓÆµapps. The coordinator is a research faculty member who assists èßäÊÓÆµapps as they enter the program. The coordinator guides èßäÊÓÆµapps in their initial selection of courses, advises èßäÊÓÆµapps as they select committee members, and supports èßäÊÓÆµapps in their teaching and research endeavors.

Advising: Ed.S. Committee

Upon admission into the program, the Ed.S. èßäÊÓÆµapp selects three faculty members to serve on his or her advisory committee. The committee includes a Major Professor from Literacy Studies and at least one other faculty member from Literacy Studies.

The Major Professor serves as the èßäÊÓÆµapp’s advisor and mentor. The Major Professor and committee will approve the course of study for the èßäÊÓÆµapp. They will plan for research, supervise the research and comprehensive qualifying exams, and read and approve the thesis for content and format.


Advising: Staff Specialist

Throughout the application process and during the program, our staff specialist assists èßäÊÓÆµapps in completing paperwork, documenting degree requirements, and navigating USF systems.
