CSE celebrated its annual Week of Welcome event for undergraduate èƵapps new to USF with over 200 èƵapps attending the event. CSE èƵapp organizations demoed their projects and invited èƵapps to their meetings. CSE èƵapp organizations at WoW included WICSE, Whitehatters, SCP, Robobulls, IEEE-CS, GameDev, and ACM. Students who checked-out a minimum of four èƵapp organizations got free pizza and a T-shirt, in addition to getting to talk with faculty and graduate èƵapps about whether CSE was right for them.
“The week of welcome event was super fun! I got to meet a lot of different people from many different majors and career paths. I also got the chance to talk to the leadership from the other computer science clubs and learn about what they're doing this semester.” said Kevin Merrill, President of the USF GameDev Club. “There were so many èƵapps who visited the Society of Competitive Programmers booth that each of our board members were utilized at the event. We expect SCP meetings to be packed for the semester thanks to the WOW event!” said Chloe Berry, President of the Society of Competitive Programmers.
This event was made possible with funding from the Computing Partners Program.
